Preventative Maintenance - fall

Take advantage of the cool fall days to rake the leaves and cut back any branches that need to be trimmed and remove any debris away from the foundation.  It is a great time to mow your lawn one last time, use a winter ready fertilizer to nourish the lawn during the winter months.  It is also the right time to drain outdoor spigots, disconnect hoses and winterize your sprinkler system.  Prepare to bring any cold weather sensitive potted plants inside.

Repair any caulk around doors and windows in preparation for the colder months ahead.  Make sure the gutters are clean to help prevent ice build up and possible roof damage.    Any cracks in your driveway and sidewalk should be repaired to avoid future damage from freezing water.  Store your lawn care equipment and perform maintenance on your winter equipment.
